TEXAS HOLDEM - RULES

In Texas Holdem, after players place required blinds or antes (see the Robert's Rules of Poker in the upper right for basic structure rules), all poker players receive two down cards which remain hidden until the final showdown of hands. After the first two cards are dealt, a round of betting occurs. Next, three community poker cards are turned over at the same time. This is called the flop. Another round of betting follows. Then a fourth community card is exposed, the turn card, followed by another betting round. Finally a fifth community is dealt, the river card, and a last round of betting bonuses.

After the completion of all betting comes the showdown. Players make hands by using the best five-card combination of their two personal cards and the five community cards. A player may use one or both cards out of their hand, or use only the five community cards.A dealer button rotates around the table so each player is in the dealer's position once a round. Normally two blinds are used, but other structures, including antes instead of or in addition to blinds can be used.

TEXAS HOLDEM - RULES : : Irregularities

If the first card dealt is exposed, a misdeal results, meaning the dealer will reshuffle and re-deal the cards. If during the course of the deal any of the other down cards (hole cards) is exposed due to a dealer error, the deal continues. After completing the deal, the dealer replaces the exposed card with the top card on the deck, and the exposed card is then used for the burn card. If during the deal more than one hole card is exposed, this misdeal and the cards are re-dealt. There is no option for a poker (poker variations) player to keep an exposed card.

If the dealer mistakenly deals the first player a third down card, that card is returned to the deck, placed on top, and used as the burn card. If the dealer accidentally deals two or more extra cards, it is a misdeal regardless of any betting that may have already occurred. If the flop contains too many cards, the cards are retrieved, re-shuffled and the flop is re-dealt -- even if it is possible to surmise which card is the "extra" card.

If the dealer accidentally turns the fourth card before a betting round was completed, the exposed card is taken back out of play, even if the remaining player or players choose to not call any final bets. Once betting is genuinely completed, the dealer burns and exposes what would have been the fifth card in the fourth card's place. After the next round of betting, the dealer will reshuffle the remaining deck, but not burn cards or discards, including the card that had been incorrectly exposed, and then exposes a river card without burning a card. If the river card is exposed prematurely, the deck is reshuffled/re-dealt similarly.

TEXAS HOLDEM - RULES : : Cards Speak

Texas Holdem

Cards Speak, which means no matter what a player says about the value of their Texas Holdem (Omaha rules) hand, the actual value is the best possible hand the combination of cards can make. Player's should protect their own hands, but the casino dealer should read the proper value of what a player's hand is.

To win a pot you must show both your cards. Showing one but discarding the other will cause a player to lose the pot. A player must first declare they want to play the five community cards (play the board) before discarding their hole cards. If a player discards their hand before stating they want to play the board, they relinquish their claim to the pot. -- Steve Badger

  • Players ante up (place a small bet in the pot).
  • Starting with the player to the dealer's left, the dealer deals each player five cards, face down.
  • Everyone picks up their cards from the table and checks out what they’ve got.
  • There’s a round of betting, starting with the player to the dealer’s left.
  • Need more help on betting rules and terms? Check out the Texas holdem rules.
  • When the betting is done, those who are still in the hand get to trade in one, two, or three cards from their hand for new ones. If a player has an ace, he/she can trade in the other four cards in his/her hand, but usually has to show the ace.
  • Note: You don’t have to trade any cards – if you’ve already got good hand, you’ll want to “stand pat” and keep the cards you were first dealt.
  • After everyone receives their new cards, there’s another round of betting, starting to the dealer's left.
  • After the betting is completed, players show their hands and the best hand wins the pot.

Play Poker : : POKER HAND RANKINGS

Play Poker

Flush - A flush is any five cards of the same suit that are not in series (QJ765 of Spades). If two people have flushes, the player with the highest flush card is the winner.

Straight Flush - A straight flush is any straight in the same suit that is not a Royal Flush (e.g. QJT98 of the same suit).

Royal Flush - A royal flush is a straight flush from Ace to Ten (AKQJT of the same suit). The reason why this is considered the best hand in poker is because it has the least amount of ways to make the hand. There are 2,598,960 various poker hands in a pack of fifty-two cards and 4 ways to make a Royal Flush, so the chance of making a royal in five cards is 1 in 649,740.

Straight - Straights are poker hands with any five cards in sequence that are not of the same suit (98765 unsuited).

Full House - A Full House is three of a kind collective with a pair (KKK44). The example hand would be Kings full of fours. If two people have full houses, the poker (Omaha rules) player with the higher three of a kind wins.

Four of a Kind - A four of a kind is when you have four cards of the same rank (8888). I can only think of one occasion when you wouldn't want four of a kind. If you are playing Omaha, you do not want the four hole cards dealt to you to be of the same rank. In this game, you must play two cards out of your hand, so if you have a starting hand of AAAA, only two of them are of any value.

Three of a Kind - Three of a kind is when a player has three cards of the same rank (777). The two most accepted poker terms used to describe three of a kind are "set" and "trips". Many players use the terms interchangeably, but there is a difference. A set is when the player holds a pocket pair in their hand and there is one of their rank on the board. Trips is when a player holds one of a rank and there are two more on the board.

Two Pair - Two pair is exactly what it sounds like (e.g. QQ99). If two players have two pair, the player with the highest ranking pair wins the pot. If both players have the same top pair, then their second pair comes into play.

One Pair - A pair is two cards of the same rank (99). If two players have a pair, then the player with the highest ranking pair wins. If both players have the same pair, then kickers (highest card that doesn't coordinate) come into play.

High Card - When a poker hand has no arrangement, the player with the highest card wins. If two or more players have the same high card, the tie is broken by the second highest card and so on.

Omaha Rules

Omaha Rules

Poker is a famed as well as popular card game. This is card game, which can be play by anyone. In which the players who plays the poker game is able to play this game fully as well as partly. Where in this game players can not show their cards in to a central pot. This pot can be rewarded to the player who makes the best card combination. Online Video poker can also refer to the poker. It can be single player game which seen in casino as a slot machine.

Omaha Hold 'em starts with a standard of 52-card deck. Each player will be dealt 4 cards face down. In casinos, the dealer never plays. A round disc, referred to by most as the "dealer button", moves clockwise around the table, from player to player, at the end of each hand.

The person with the button is the symbolic dealer. This is important because the person with this disc is the last to act during the betting rounds. The ability to act after everyone else has bet, with no fear of being raised, is a strategic edge, thus in the name of fairness each player gets to be the "dealer" in their turn.

To the left of the person with the dealer button are the blinds. The player who engages the blind position starts the pot off with forced bets. The person to the immediate left of the dealer is referred to as the "small blind".

Traditionally this person contributes half the minimum bet. In other words, if the table minimum bet is $10, the small blind will start the pot with a $5 contribution. To the immediate left of the small blind is the "big blind". The person in this position puts the full minimum bet into the pot. In the case of the example above, the big blind will be adding $10 to the pot.

After the blinds have been paid, the dealer will give each player their four "hole cards". As was mentioned earlier, these cards will be dealt face down.

Betting begins after the cards have been dealt. The player to the left of the big blind will be the first person to bet. As with most other online poker games like Texas holdem rules, players may call, rise, or fold when it's their turn to bet.

Once the first round of betting is over, the dealer discards the top card of the deck. This is referred to as burning the card. This is done as a security precaution to ensure that no one accidentally saw the top card. Burning a card helps to reduce cheating.

The dealer then deals the next three cards, face up, to the middle of the table. These community cards are called the "flop." Eventually there will be a total of five community cards. Players will use precisely three of the community cards in combination with exactly two of their hole cards to form the best possible five-card Poker (poker variations) hand.

After the flop, another round of betting takes place. This begins with the person to the immediate left of the player who possesses the dealer button. In other words, the person who posted the small blind, begins all betting rounds after the flop. At some point in this and all future rounds of betting, players can check, call, raise, or fold when it's their turn to bet.

The dealer burns another card and places a card, face up, to the middle of the table. This, the fourth community card, is called the "turn" or "Fourth Street." Another round of betting takes place.

The dealer burns yet another card before dealing the final face-up card to the center of the table. This card is called the "river" or "Fifth Street."

Players now use exactly three of the five community cards and exactly two of their four hole cards to form the best possible five-card poker hand.

The fourth and final round of betting begins. By this point many players have usually already dropped out. After the final betting round, all players who remain in the game show their hands. Traditionally the first player to reveal their hand is the player who made the initial bet or the player who made the last raise.

The player with the best five-card poker hand wins. The dealer button is now moved clockwise to the next player.
